Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski today’s press conference revealed new evidence of more abuse of personal documents, this time 70,000 duplicates of driving licenses were found in the warehouse of the Ministry.
The duplicates according to Spasovski were discovered whilst investigating the case of the illegal issuing of identity cards.
According to the investigation, this case so far implicates a senior official at the Interior Ministry.
“Immediately after the discovery of the scandal involving the illegally issued ID cards, I formed a commission and ordered for an inventory to be carried out and all its forms for the issuing of personal documents in the warehouse of the Ministry. On November 26, 2015, in the warehouse, 70,000 forms for driving licenses had entered and they were are not in the warehouse’s record. This document shows that in the records at the Interior Ministry, driving licenses with the same serial numbers have already been issued, records go back a year and nine months, to February 7, 2014” said Spasovski.
According to the Minister, the Assistant Manager knew about the entry of duplicate forms knew and fled the area, but he did not react to the situation. Spasovski stated that Assistant Manager reported the case one day after the forms were found, and on the same day he sent a letter to the company supplier for personal documents at the Interior Ministry.
