For a long time the United States has supported the Republic of Greece and the Republic of Macedonia regarding resolving the name dispute, Ambassador Jess Bailey said.
Answering to a journalist’s question at a break at the first Macedonian Energy Forum 2018, which has being held today in Struga, organized by AD ELEM, the US Ambassador said that resolving this long-term problem will bring good to both countries, and will also contribute to prosperity and stability to the entire region.
“Negotiations are continuing between the two countries with the help of the UN. Knowing the specificity of this matter, I will leave the two countries to find a mutually acceptable solution, which citizens have been waiting for a long time”, Bailey said.
Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia Wess Mitchell said earlier that the United States continue to play a silent role in the process regarding resolving the name dispute between Macedonia and Greece.
