Senate proposes new law on higher education, the ministry is alert

Senate of university “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje proposed to the Ministry of Education and Science to initiate a comprehensive discussion of which would arise proposal for a new law on higher education as soon as possible.

This decision was made today by the University Senate, on which the rector of UKIM Velimir Stojkovski informs the Minister of Education and Science Abdilakim Ademi with a letter.

“On its 26th session held on 30.01.2015, University Senate of the university “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje decided to propose to you to initiate discussion with teachers, students and all concerned parties in the process of higher education as soon as possible for comprehensive, professional and thorough analysis of which will arise proposal for changes, i.e. a new law on higher education,” reads Stojkovski’s letter to Ademi.

The Ministry of Education responded with a statement saying that the proposal deserves attention.
