Nikola Jankulovki selected as new Rector of UKIM

-

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Nikola Jankulovski, has been elected as the new Rector of the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius”. He won with 43 votes against his rival, Professor Nenad Novkovski, who won six votes, while six ballots were invalid.

Jankulovski will be Rector of the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” (UKIM) for the next four years.

Before the session of the Senate at UKIM, the “Student Plenum” blocked the entrance to the Rectory to prevent teachers who are members of the Senate to enter the building and to vote for a new Rector.

According to the “Student plenum”, the mandate of the representatives of the Student Parliament expired a long time ago and it is necessary to choose legitimate student representatives first, and then elect a new Rector.

After four representatives from the “Student Plenum” gained attendance at the session, shortly they left because their say had been taken away and their microphones were turned off. They rebelled against the decision of the Commission for verifying the Senate and confirming the mandates of ten representatives of the Student Parliament of UKIM (SPUKM), claiming that they are illegitimate.
