The Government of North Macedonia, on the recommendation of the Cultural Heritage Protection Office and the National Council for Cultural Heritage, has issued a decree to declare the Skopje Aqueduct a cultural heritage of significant importance, subcategory extraordinary significance.
With this decision, the Aqueduct is now enlisted in the constitutional category “Public good of general interest for the Republic of North Macedonia” and is enjoying special protection provided by the Constitution and the Law on the protection of cultural heritage.
