An anonymous citizen submitted video material on which it is seen that passports are forged in a private apartment or house to the editorial board of the weekly Fokus, reported Fokus today.
According to Fokus, the man who made the tape was probably part of the group responsible for the forgery of passports.
Fokus connects the suspicions about the workshop for making “black passports”, which are raised by the footage, with the disappearance of the two systems for preparation of ID cards and passports, called AFIS.
– The material gives the impression that somewhere, on private property, passports are being made! For what purpose, we cannot say, but it can be assumed. Of course, the video is a valuable evidence for investigation of public prosecutors or as an addition to the investigation for the AFIS equipment which lasts for months now – wrote Fokus.
MOI today reacted to the report of Fokus.
They say that the ministry weren’t nor currently are lacking original patterns, and they haven’t received any charges that someone abused forged patterns.
– MOI hopes that Fokus’ “alarm” is not orchestrated by someone else, but that there is really evidence that someone forged and abused Macedonian passport. We remain open and encourage Fokus to submit evidence and suspicions in order to eliminate any dilemma for biased and unreliable montages and invented accusations – reads the statement of MOI.
In the same statement it is read that Macedonian passports of the second generation were among the leading in Europe with more than 20 elements of protection.
