The large political parties will lose if Macedonia becomes a single electoral unit, but in that case the citizens will benefit most, along with the system of parliamentary democracy. Realistically, the single unit model will prevent all-powerful figures like Gruevski from ruling Macedonia.

If Gruevski wants a majority list, that is a legitimate debate, but first there must be a population census. Without a census, how will we define the electoral units? We will sink into another constitutional irregularity if we are to carry out his model, said Zaev.
