Three buildings that are part of the Skopje 2014 projects were stopped due to problems with Beton Stip company

The building of FINKI’s buildings, the City House and the Officer’s House, all part of the Skopje 2014 project were completely stopped when Beton company has found itself in an insolvency procedure.

On Tuesday, at the Basic Court in Stip the manager Dragi Dimovski is expected to file a report about Beton’s situation. After that, the main trustees who requested this procedure to be opened will be deciding whether to give Beton another chance or it will file for bankruptcy.

At the hearing on Tuesday, the correct amount of the debt will be known including the company’s outstanding claims.

The Basic court in Stip confirmed that the documentation is voluminous with 30 certificates of title, because of which the manager has demanded an additional time in order to process the documentation.

In the meantime, the court has banned the sale of Beton’s property i.e. it froze its property. The workers that have managed to find new jobs have left to join other companies while the remaining are on the Employment Agency’s list.

This was confirmed by Beton’s General Manager, Vanche Mijalchev, who is hoping that n Tuesday the trustees will opt for a reorganization.

“Beton has outstanding claims. As a subcontractor for the Greek company Interkat it built the Clinic in Stip as a subsidiary has outstanding claims in the amount of 124 million denars. The Greek company took these assets from the investors – The Ministry of Health, but Beton still hasn’t been paid – said Mijalchev.

Attorney Sasho Boshkov who is part of Beton’s management confirmed that at the moment there is a trial in order to collect the fee for the work done.

Beton’s faith will decide the faith of three major buildings that are part of the Skopje 2014 project.

This company has existed for more than 70years, and it was one of the chief builders of the Skopje 2014 project.
