The Voters’ List is now closed, and 1.784.416 citizens have the right to vote

The State Election Commission has closed the Voters’ List for the upcoming early parliamentary elections and has set out the layout of the electoral ballot.

According to the Voters’ List, for the elections set for the 11th of December, 1.784.416 citizens of the Republic of Macedonia will have the right to vote.

The President of the SEC, Aleksandar Chichakovski announced that 1.531.368 people will vote in constituencies across Macedonia, whereas on the special Voters’ List, 230.122 people are registered to vote, who according to the records from an authorized body, are citizens temporarily working abroad. As for the Diaspora, the registration of 20.573 citizens has been accepted and they have the right to vote.

The Commission stated that in the elections, 13 internal displaced people and 2,015 people who are currently in detention or prison will vote, and at the SEC offices before the elections, 320 people who are members of election boards in the Diaspora will also vote.

At today’s session, the Commission also announced that the names of the 11 coalitions and parties will be written in Macedonian and in constituencies where there is a larger percentage of minorities, the ballot will be written in their native language as well.
