Despite the fact the census was scheduled for the period between 1-30th of April 2020, the census will be postponed for another year. The State Statistical Office (SSO) has officially requested that the period for the implementation of the census to be postponed for April 2021 and the Law on Census, households, dwellings to be passed before the technical government is appointed.
“According to the established international experience and ways. the census and election activities cannot be held parallel one to another” states the SSO’s announcement.
The Office will lodge the proposal for postponing the census at the Justice Ministry which is the official proposer for the Law on Census of the population, households, and dwellings.
SSO stressed that they are ready to discuss all of the remarks related to the census with all relevant factors in the state
