SPO: We have no comment on the Constitutional Court’s decision regarding the Amnesty Law

The Special Prosecutor’s Office did not want to comment on the decision made by the Constitutional Court who abolished the amendments to the Amnesty Law from 2009, and now have allowed the President to pardon people convicted or prosecuted for electoral fraud.

This decision of the Constitutional Court has been generally interpreted as an intervention by the ruling party VMRO-DPMNE, whose senior officials and former cabinet ministers are suspects and are being charged for electoral crime when the Special Public Prosecution initiated an investigation and criminal proceedings, dubbed Operation “Titanic”.

“The Special Public Prosecution is not in a position to comment on the decision of the courts and other institutions and we will not comment especially on the Constitutional Court’s decision. We are focused and concentrated on our job which is establishing this Public Prosecution”,  said Lence Ristovska spokeswoman and Prosecutor for the SPO.
