Being a participant in the Olympic Games in Tokyo is a one-of-a kind experience. I met many of my idols from the world swimming, and I am extremely happy to have met the US Olympic and World champion Caeleb Dressel, who gave me his cap, explains Mia Blazhevska – Eminova, who has been preparing in Tokyo for her feat at the Summer Olympic Games.

Talking to Meta.mk, this 15-year old swimmer talks about her experiences during the stay in Tokyo and reveals her feelings.

“It’s so wonderful here. I am not allowed to go out of the Olympic Village, but from what I have seen so far, I am really thrilled, the city is marvelous. I am so happy I can participate in the Olympics and so happy to be in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I met many famous persons I have always dreamed of seeing in person”, Mia reveals.

She will participate on the 28th of July at 7 PM, i.e. at noon Macedonian time. Her preparations are going on great, she says.

“I will swim a 100 meters front crawl race. We have gone to see the pool, which is amazing. The nervousness is always present, but in a positive sense. I am looking forward to swimming the race and I hope I will attain personal and national sport records,” Mia explains.

North Macedonia’s Olympic Team has two swimmers, Mia Blazhevska – Eminova and Filip Derkoski. The rest of the members are Dejan Georgievski (Taekwondo) Jovan Stojoski (Athletics), Arbresha Rexhepi (Judo), Puleksenija Jovanoska (Karate), Borjan Brankovski (Shooting) and Mogamedgaji Nurov (Wrestling).

Mia is a student of the Georgi Dimitrov High School in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia.

In Belgrade, at the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in the 100 meters front crawl race her result was 57.13 seconds, which gave her the opportunity to represent North Macedonia in the Tokyo Summer Olympic Games.
