“BIRN Albania”, supported by the US Embassy in the Republic of Albania, organized a round table dedicated to the issues of the new territorial division of the country in the town of Burrel.
The representative of the Macedonian minority, president of the Macedonian association “Ilinden” from Tirana – Golo Brdo branch Uli Halilaj, highlighted the problems which with the Macedonian population in Golo Brdo, as well as in other parts of Albania, is facing.
Halilaj said reforms in local administration, the ethnic Macedonians in Albania are placed in a disadvantaged position and urge planners to assign at least one municipality in Golo Brdo, following the example of the only one in Pustec.
