Kocijančič: European Union does not want to interfere in the case with Gruevski

The European Union does not want to interfere in the case regarding former Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and his political asylum claim in Hungary, stated European Commission spokeswoman Maja Kocijančič for Pressing TV.

Kocijančič says that “this is a case that must not be politicized.”

“We are aware of the situation regarding Mr. Gruevski. We do not comment on ongoing court proceedings. The rule of law is a fundamental principle of the European Union, for member states and candidate countries. We expect all parties to act strictly in accordance with the relevant rules. This is a court procedure that must not be politicized,” said Kocijančič.
