In the first three months, €8.1 million Macedonian investments abroad

An issue that deserves attention is the question of whether there will be a time when Macedonian companies start to move investments to other countries, considering that in the first three months of this year, foreign direct investments from our country abroad amounted to €8.1 million.

Data from the National Bank shows that there has been a significant increase in direct investments from the country abroad which amounted to €2.6 and €1.75 million annually, compared to 2018 and 2017.

This increase comes at the same time as the decline in foreign investment in the country. In the first quarter of the year, a modest €29 million of foreign direct investments entered the country, which is a several-fold decrease compared to the same period last year, when €235 million were invested.
