Gruevski, master of intrusions

When you mention the sudden appearance of Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski at a press conference, you immediately think of his deliberate tactic of “intrusions”. He once more proved it with his latest appearance in the Government of the Republic of Macedonia.

This “intrusion” occurred immediately after the announcing of the fourth “bomb” by SDSM leader Zoran Zaev, so, only an hour later, Gruevski unannounced and suddenly, called journalists and explained in detail the indictment and answered “Frequently asked questions” (FAQ), which are characteristic of Internet promotion of new products.

Earlier, following the criminal charges for the leader of the opposition, in almost identical way, Gruevski appeared before reporters and said out country is under attack.

Not long ago, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski once again unannounced carried out an “intrusion”, this time of the “Student plenum”. He suddenly invited them to a meeting, and students, ambushed, had to accept the meeting. And, as META reported, everyone who entered Gruevski’s office, came out with an agreement. However, this is not a new tactic of the Prime Minister, although it seems that it always works. Years ago, this strategy found its place in the political struggle in the country.

Prime Minister’s intrusion on the teachers’ protest outside the hotel “Alexander Palace” was also one of the most commented events. It caused a storm of reactions – from praise to criticism. But all agreed on one point: the tactics of “intrusions” of ministers and the Prime Minister himself is tested and, so far, gives results. And one thing is constant: after such unexpected appearances, tensions fade and the cause of the protest or event is ignored.

However, Gruevski cannot patent the invention called “intrusion”. That title by right is given to the present Minister of Health Nikola Todorov, who first tried this method at the protest of university professors on 27th of January 2011 in front of “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” university campus.

Professors then protested against the amendments to the Law on Higher Education. However, one thing faded among the public. The same procedure, for which they blamed Professor Biljana Vankovska, that she reacted graciously to the appearance of the Prime Minister, was then made by Professor Gordana Siljanovska. She was the only one of the professors who publicly stated that the need to review the pros and cons of the proposal.

– Professors cannot finish their careers with one or no published work, with incompetence, so we have to deal with ourselves. The arrival of the minister here is a remarkable move, I did not know that the minister is a professional in martial arts, but here, maybe it’s part of wrestling, I see this as a great move and, here, if you want, I am offering a hand for dialogue – said Siljanovska at the time.

After Todorov’s move, Gruevski encouraged and decided to follow the footsteps of his minister. The first test was sudden appearance before the cameras in the open studio of now liquidated “A1 Television,” which was improvised in front of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia. Then, just 20 minutes before the start of the evening news, his office proactively announced the Prime Minister as a guest. And then, as in the latter case with Vankovska, the confused editors of the television lost the chance to score.

The last example of intrusion of the Prime Minister showed that he works in accordance with good practices. Now, as in previous appearances, there would be some confused, nervous, reactions on social networks, but one thing is common – intrusions ended with points plus for the “unannounced” and with a twist in the previous course of events.
