Prime Minister of North Macedonia gets Sinopharm jab

-

The Prime Minister of North Macedonia Zoran Zaev was vaccinated today with the Chinese jab “Sinopharm”, i.e. as he said, the one that was availlable when his turn came, in accordance with the National Plan for Immunization.

Zaev said that he feels great and will continue with the current work agenda this afternoon.

“With the vaccines that arrived last week and with all the other arranged and confirmed shipments for the period to come I believe that by the start of the summer, we will have a high percentage of inoculated citizens, which will contribute for a development of the epidemiological picture,” Zaev said.

He encouraged the citizens to register for vaccination, as it is the only way to provide efficient means of protection against COVID-19.

Zaev said that the vaccines are safe and tested and the faster the immunization concludes, the faster the pandemic will be conquered. However, it is also important, he said, to have mass participation in order to change the epidemiological picture and to achieve collective immunity.

The Prime Minister has announced opening another two regional vaccination stations in Veles and Prilep.

In relation to the allegations of the VMRO-DPMNE that the Government has tried to purchase vaccines from China at twice the normal price, Zaev said that the prices of the vaccines are well-known everywhere in the world, and that the sums they have paid are in more or less the same as the prices in the neighboring countries and in Europe.

He expects that by fall the vaccines will become cheaper and he also announced a possibility of declassifying the information about the procurement of the vaccines by North Macedonia’s government.
