Zaev: Gasification is developing at a good pace

The construction of pipelines and other gas systems is developing at a good pace, some municipalities have already prepared the necessary documentation for the construction of natural gas distribution systems, and the process of constructing the interconnection with the gas system of the Republic of Greece is entering its final phase, said today Prime Minister Zoran Zaev at the Macedonian Energy Forum 2019, which is being held this year under the motto “Energy Transition through Renewable Sources and Energy Efficiency”.

“With this, we get another opportunity to supply natural gas from Azerbaijan and at the same time connect with natural gas (LNG),” Zaev said.

US Ambassador to the United States, Micaela Schweitzer-Bluhm pointed out that the United States will continue to support the development of the energy sector in North Macedonia.

“American energy technology is integrated into some of the most important energy infrastructures in the region and beyond Europe. An example of this, is the cooperation with Greece for the import of US LNG gas, namely liquefied natural gas, and in this direction we welcome your cooperation with Greece and the construction of an interconnector for natural gas”, said Micaela Schweitzer-Bluhm.
