The newly elected president of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia, Talat Xhaferi, began his working day in the presidential cabinet, announced the parliament’s office.
“Together with the members of his cabinet and the parliamentary’s services he is working on all formal administrative operations that are part of the obligations of the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia. The act itself of taking over the duties was performed normally and in accordance with the principles of the parliamentary democracy” said the press release.
The cabinet of the parliamentary president also informs about the meeting that Xhaferi had with the chief of the European Union’s delegation, Samuel Žbogar to whom Xhaferi had announced that with the taking over of this position he will work on strengthening of the democratic processes.
“The president of the Parliament Talat Xhaferi has stressed that by taking over this function he will work on strengthening of the democratic processes and complete accomplishment of the principles of the parliamentary democracy within the functioning of the Parliament as a legislative body. President Xhaferi stressed that he expects that a government will be formed soon and after that, by respecting the independence of each part of the government, to work for the benefit of all citizens of Republic of Macedonia as well as the accomplishment of all our strategic goals i.e. NATO and EU membership” said the cabinet of the president of the Parliament
