Turkey declares three days of mourning – 86 dead and over 190 injured in attack on Ankara

 

The death toll now stands at Eighty-six dead and over 190 injured from the terrorist attack in Ankara.
Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu declared three days of mourning the terrorist attack and said there is evidence that two suicide suicide bombers carried out the attack near the railway station, at the beginning of a peaceful protest against tensions between Kurdish militants and the Turkish police.
“It is an attack on the whole of Turkey, against Turkish democracy”, said Mr Davutoglu.
Turkish media reported that this is the deadliest attack in the 92 year history of the Republic of Turkey. So far, no terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for the attack.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said of the attack, which has happened a few weeks before elections, is an act of terrorism and called it a “heinous attack”.
Meanwhile, approximately 2,000 people took to the streets of Istanbul to condemn the attack in the capital of Turkey.
