The Constitutional Court begins its summer recess tomorrow, the SPO and the cross in Butel will have to wait until September

The Constitutional Court is to hold its last session before the summer recess. The next session of the Constitutional Court will be on September 1, when the judges return to the Committee and continue to work, the court told “Meta”.

At tomorrow’s session, as we were told by the General Secretary of the Constitutional Court, Olivera Filipovska, they will not be reviewing initiatives, but only texts of the draft decisions adopted by the court.

This means that the initiative for assessing the constitutionality of the Law on Special Public Prosecution specifically will eventually find itself on the agenda of the court in Autumn.

Otherwise, this initiative was a key requirement made by the “Colourful Revolution” and the opposition.

The initiative for assessing the constitutionality of the SPO was filed and submitted to the court eight months ago, but so far not has not been on the agenda of the sessions of the Constitutional Court.

Also, the initiative on the constitutionality of the decision to build the 55-metre cross in Butel will also have to wait, which was filed in March by the Mayor of Struga Zijadin Sela because, according to him, the decision is not in accordance with the Badinter principle.

This initiative, even though it was on the agenda of the court, its review was postponed three times.
