The statement of the Metropolitan of the Russian Orthodox Church Hilarion Alfeyev in which he talks about the dispute between MOC-OA and SOC and the offer of mediation by the ROC, which is today reported by Serbian media, citing Religious Informative Agency (VIA), and which was taken over by several Macedonian portals, is part of an interview of the Metropolitan of Volokolamsk for the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) during his visit to Bulgaria two weeks ago.
The interview for BNR was posted on 27th of December, and, according to the context, was made during his visit to Sofia, ten days before the New Year.
Part of the interview of Hilarion Alfeyev was announced on 30th of December on the website of the Bulgarian independent Orthodox portal “Dveri.bg”, from which it was taken and posted on the official website of MOC-OA four days later, where the Bulgarian portal was mentioned as source.
The news regarding the statement of Hilarion Alfeyev by Serbian media, i.e. VIA, which reads “Russian Orthodox Church can not unilaterally recognize the Macedonian Orthodox Church (MOC). It should be done on the basis of all-Christian decision, and we are ready to be mediators” is plausible transmitted. The only thing that was left out (for unknown reasons) is the last sentence of the statement, which is “I, after the visit to Sofia, will visit Skopje to discuss with the leadership of Macedonia and the Church on the matter”.
The news, which was published today by Serbian media, which refer to VIA, was also reported by META.
