The candidate for the mayor of Veles from SDSM, Ace Kocevski, declared victory in the local elections, and according to party sources, SDSM won in Bitola, Berovo, the Skopje municipality of Butel, Valandovo, Gevgelija, Delcevo and in several smaller municipalities victory is certain.
In the first round of local elections Sasa Bogdanović, candidate for mayor from SDSM in the Skopje municipality of Centar won, who said that he expected such a result.
Kocevski said at a press conference that the citizens of Veles made the right choice and emphasized that with the victory of these elections, the historical injustice of previous election cycles has been corrected when, as he said, the victory was stolen.
At a press conference at the headquarters of SDSM, Ivana Tufegdzic announced the results for some of the municipalities according to party data for more than half of the counted votes.
According to SDSM, victory is certain in the first round for their candidate for mayor in Skopje’s municipality of Aerodrom, Zlatko Marin, as well as in Bitola, Butel and Gevgelija.
