By flying low, helicopter “MI-8” of the security forces today morning drew the attention of Skopje citizens.
To the question of META about the flight, Deputy Minister for Public Relations of the Ministry of Interior Ivo Kotevski said he could not confirm that the aircraft is of MOI, and also that he hasn’t received any information about a possible event which would require air support.
Unofficially, the ministry said that flight of the helicopters is not always associated with some event or action by the security forces, but often it is a matter of routine flights.
– The permit or license for flying of pilots is not automatically renewed as the license for operating a car. Legal procedures and protocols require that they have a license management helicopter during the year to have a certain number of hours of flight, and the same goes for the helicopters in order to monitor their condition – says MOI unofficially.
