Executive Committee of VMRO gets smaller: Members under investigation, confiscated passports, and resignations

Out of the 32 members of the Executive Committee of the opposition VMRO-DPMNE, there are five members who are under investigation by the Special Prosecutor’s Office- the outgoing president of the party, Nikola Gruevski, former Minister of Health, Nikola Todorov, MP Ilija Dimovski, MP Daniela Rangelova and former Interim Prime Minister Emil Dimitriev. Under investigation by the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption, in particular, for the violence that occurred on April 27th, is one member, Bogdan Ilievski. Yesterday, Nikola Poposki, the former Foreign Minister gave his resignation to the Executive Committee.

Additionally, a large number of members, including Ilija Dimovski, published a letter two days ago demanding the postponement of the Congress, which should be held today and tomorrow in Valandovo.

The Executive Committee confirmed the dates for holding the congress the day before yesterday and then announced that the initiative for delaying the competition which did not receive much support.

The Central Committee last night confirmed that congress will be held today and tomorrow in Valandovo.

From there they informed that there will be one candidate because the other candidate had submitted incomplete documentation.
