Baily will leave Macedonia in March

The US Ambassador Jess Baily announced that he will be departing Skopje in March and that very soon he will go into retirement, after 34 years of service at the State Department.

“It’s been my highest honor to work with this fantastic team, each and every day, over the past four years. Capie and I look forward to thanking friends & colleagues across the country for their hard work on shared goals, wise advice, & generous hospitality. The US-MK relationship stands stronger than ever; nothing will symbolize that better than seeing this country take its NATO seat” wrote Baily on his Twitter account.

The US President, Donald Trump proposed Kate Marie Byrnes to be the new US Ambassador in Macedonia that will replace the current Ambassador Jess Baily.

Byrnes is a career diplomat and will arrive from Athens, where she was the US Deputy Ambassador in Greece since September 2017.
