Bekteshi and Plomp discussed economic cooperation between Macedonia and the Netherlands

Today, the Minister for Economy, Kreshnik Bekteshi met with the Dutch Ambassador, Wouter Plomp, where they discussed topics such as tourism, agriculture and investments in renewable energy sources.

Bekteshi said that agriculture and investments in renewable energy are two branches of the economy, which are very important to the country, so exchanging experiences with the Netherlands would be of great help.

The Dutch Ambassador confirmed that Macedonia remains a desirable tourist destination for the Dutch people and he expressed interest in developing a long-term plan for the region of Ohrid, especially because of the fact that the number of Dutch tourists has increased, and Ohrid will soon need to increase its accommodation capacity.


Initiative for free accommodation for the fans that will attend the Super Cup

Due to the enormous increase of the prices for accommodation at the hotels in Skopje and agencies renting apartments because of the forthcoming UEFA’s Super Cup, several young people have commenced an action to improve Skopje’s reputation in the eyes of football fans. With their project “Super Cup Skopje”, the members of the WeTalkIT community are connecting football fans that they need accommodation with people in Macedonia that wish to be provided with a free accommodation.

The goal of this project is more people to be hosts to one or two guests in their home in order to allow them a place for lodging for fans that will come to see the match between “Real Madrid” and “Manchester United.”

In order to provide accommodation for a some of the fans, all you have to do is to log into the special web site and to state what sort of accommodation you can provide. The guests interested in accommodation will directly contact by email those that have announced an accommodation, and the host will decide by himself for which guest or guests he wants to offer free accommodation.


Municipality of Kumanovo opened a call center to accommodate displaced

Municipality of Kumanovo opened a call center for citizens who need to be cared for. All families who need accommodation or any other help and problem can call the phone numbers 031 475-830 and 475-800.

Dormitory “Professor Mijalkovik”, gyms of schools “11th of October”, “Kocho Racin” and “Hristijan Todorovski-Karposh” and kindergartens will be used as accommodation.

Municipality of Kumanovo has allocated two million denars for the needs of the internally displaced people from the so-called Divo naselje. Mayor of the Municipality of Kumanovo Zoran Damjanovski announced that crisis headquarters decided the schools not to work tomorrow.

– The 2001 crisis was nothing for the citizens of Kumanovo in comparison to this urban terrorism we face. I appeal to citizens for restraint and calmness – said Mayor Damjanovski.
