SDSM’s Executive Board: Snap elections to be held immediately if the Agreement doesn’t pass in the Parliament

At the session of SDSM’s Executive Board it was unanimously concluded that now, when there is a clearly expressed will by the majority of people, the MPs should heed the voice of the majority of over 600.000 people, to take responsibility and to speed up the processes for a final membership into NATO and EU.

“if this is not possible and VMRO-DPMNE continues to obstruct the citizens’ future and keeps pushing the country into the abyss, then there will be no other alternative but span parliamentary elections immediately, during which the citizens will decide for their future, concluded SDSM’s Executive Board. The Executive Board concluded that all democratic means should be used, to allow the MPs to heed the voice of the citizens and to secure a membership into NATO and EU.” said SDSM’s press release.

The Executive Board has authorized SDSM’s President, Zoran Zaev and the coordinator of SDSM’s parliamentary group, Tomislav Tuntev, to take all necessary steps towards preparation for snap parliamentary elections.

“No one should hope for amnesty. It’s a very important issue, it’s about the country’s future, the future of the citizens and the focus of all parliamentary parties should be centered on this issue. ANything else is playing with the future and an effort of returning the country back into isolation and unimportance. At the session, it was stated that the referendum was organized in a calm and democratic atmosphere” said the press release.
