Zoran Stavreski resigns from office due to health reasons

Minister of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister, Zoran Stavreski today resigned from office, due to personal and health issues.

“The health problems I face and the advice I have received from doctors indicate for successful treatment and recovery, I will not be able to perform my role and duties as Minister of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister”, said Zoran Stavreski’s resignation.

In his resignation, he thanks the former Prime Minister, Nikola Gruevski for their fruitful and professional collaboration.

Replacing Stavreski, Prime Minister Emil Dimitirev is likely to offer the position to the current Director of the Public Revenue Office, Kiril Minovki.

Government spokesperson, Aleksandar Gjorgiev told “Meta” that the Government expresses their gratitude to Stavreski for his commitment over the years, and wishes him all the best, good health and luck in overcoming challenges he may face in the future.

“Due to personal health reasons, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance, Zoran Stavreski has resigned from office. He listed his reasons in his resignations which are in writing, and we fully understand and respect his decision. The Government would like to express its gratitude to Deputy Prime Minister Stavreski for all his work, his commitment and the contribution he has made in implementing government measures, programs and policies, which is evident by his outstanding results over the years. We all wish him good health and to overcome challenges his may face in the future, and the Government will always keep its doors open for a man with such qualities as his”, said Gjorgiev.
