Zaev will meet with Juncker, Tajani, Mogherini and Hahn on December 5th-6th in Brussels

Prime Minister Zoran Zaev will meet with the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker during a two-day working visit to Brussels on December 5th and 6th, according to the prime minister’s cabinet.

After the meeting, which is the first between the Macedonian Prime Minister and the current President of the European Commission, joint statements are expected to be given by Zaev and Juncker.

“On December 6th, Zaev will meet with the President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, right after a European Prayer Breakfast in European Parliament. On the same day, in the afternoon, the Prime Minister will have a meeting with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini. Prime Minister Zaev will also be meeting EU Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, concluding the working part of his visit to the highest EU institutions”, reads the government statement.

During this visit to the highest EU institutions in Brussels, Zaev and the delegation of the Government composed of Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Bujar Osmani, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Dimitrov, Minister of Transport and Communications, Goran Sugarevski and the Secretary General of the Government , Dragi Rashkovski, they will also meet with other top representatives of the European Parliament and the European Commission.

In the framework of this two-day visit to Brussels, Prime Minister Zaev will take part in the debate on “Macedonia and the Western Balkan Region on the Road to the European Union” organized by the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), as well as a debate on “Macedonia after the Colourful Revolution: New Opportunities for a Successful EU Accession”, organized by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Brussels.
