VMRO-DPMNE Will Not Support Requests From Katica Janeva, Says Gruevski

The ruling VMRO-DPMNE party will not support the requests from Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva which were submitted to Parliament on Thursday, where she requests an extension of the work of the Special Prosecutor’s Office, an extention of the deadline for investigations, amendements on the laws on witness protection and for the recommendations of the Venice Commission to be respected. This was stated by leader of the VMRO-DPMNE, Nikola Gruevski during his visit to primary school “Cyril and Methodius”, when he was asked whether he would endorse Janeva’s requests.

“We provided everything that was needed. The budget, resources, employment, facilities, logistics and everything which was needed. Laws were changed, together aligned with the opposition, and we do not see the need for their expansion, upgrading or the need for a new agreement”, Gruevski said, when asked whether he would endorse Janeva’s requests.

When he was asked whether he would appear in court as a witness in the case “Putsch,” Gruevski said he would appear if summoned by the court.
