Today I expect to make progress and for the political parties to agree on reforms in the media, said the facilitator Peter Vanhoutte before today’s final meeting and before the deadline for an agreement on reforms to the media.
“I hope for progress in the negotiations and for all parties to be constructive. Today, we will discuss two issues regarding the mandate and the members of the Agency for Media, and government advertising in the media. If there is goodwill, a deal can be reached in a few hours. However, we will work hard to finally reach an agreement – said Vanhaute.
The meeting also will be attended by the US Ambassador to Macedonia Jess Bailey, and the Deputy to EU Ambassador, Aivo Orav.
Vanhoutte does not know whether Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations , Johannes Hahn, will arrive in Macedonia tomorrow, or whether representatives from the political parties will attend talks in Brussels.
