Valandovo will hold a referendum over the Kazandol mine

Today, in Valandovo, a referendum is taking place where the citizens of this municipality should state whether they “approve” or “disapprove” the continuation or to stop the work of the mining complex Kazandol, but also whether to open or not new mines for metal mineral raw materials.

In order for the referendum to be successful, the exit rate should be at least 5.200 citizens with the right to vote.

Valandovo is the fourth city in Macedonia where a referendum is taking place. The citizens of Gevgelija, Bogdanci, and Dojran have already proclaimed against opening mines.
