Today SDSM will submit their draft laws on the media to working groups

Today, the SDSM will submit their draft-laws on the media to all parties signatory to the Przhino Agreement. After which the working groups will meet to discuss the them. At present there is is still no scheduled date for a meeting between the negotiating teams, but a new round of talks are expected to be held no later than tomorrow.

The SDSM’s proposals are along the same lines of those of the Belgian facilitator Peter Vanhoutte. Laws on government advertising are a combined type for MRTV to operate under, a combination of the Slovenian-German-Belgian models are the VMRO-DPMNE’s prospals to regulate the media.

The ruling party proposed financing MRTV in two ways, one being financed through the national budget, the second- through a TV licence/fee scheme. Also, the VMRO-DPMNE proposed the MRTV Council remain unchanged, with a term of 100 days before elections, the news programs to be regulated by two editors, one from the ruling government and one from the opposition.
