Today, prisoners and their relatives protest

Today, inmates and their relatives will be protesting in front of all the prisons in Macedonia, because President Gjorgi Ivanov has still not responded to their requests to be pardoned.

According to reports, the protest is being supported by various NGOs, who are already protesting against Ivanov’s decision to pardon politicians and their close associates, who are mostly under investigation for serious crimes.

Inmates are asking that their sentences be reduced by 30 percent, and those serving a life sentence, to serve only 15 years.
