The European Federation of Journalists supports the Registry for professional online media

The European Federation of Journalists welcomed the Registry for self-regulation of professional online media in North Macedonia, initiated by the Association of Journalist of Macedonia (AJM) and the Council of Media Ethics (CMEM).

“We believe that journalists’ organisations should promote for the public benefit high ethical standards in journalism, based on five principles: truth and accuracy, independence, fairness and honesty, humanity, and accountability. That is why the EFJ supports this professional initiative aiming to strengthen media self-regulation in North Macedonia” said EFJ’s General Secretary Ricardo Gutiérrez. “

More than 70 online media outlets have managed to enter the Registry during the first phase, and starting from 1st of January next year, the web page www.promedia.mk will be put to use and will contain all the details for all of the registry members.
