The Agency of Audio and Audio-Visual Media Services demands from all institutions transparency and two-way communication with journalists

The Agency of Audio and Audio-Visual Media Services (AAAVMS) made a plea to the Government and other institutions to promote the communication with journalists and to increase the level of transparency during the state of emergency period. AAAVMS stress that the communication with the journalists should be open and two-way.

“During a state of emergency it is extremely important to allow the journalists to conduct their work professionally and to be allowed space for asking additional questions to received answers. Only this way, the freedom of expression and the to inform the citizens will not be jeopardized. The Agency thinks that the authorized organs and institutions should avoid using communication forms that resemble media informative shows, according to the format, as was shown recently” states AAAVMS’ press release.

The Agency reminds that each media should be granted equal access to report regardless if some of the media were evidenced or not in AJM’s or COEM’s Registry of Professional Media. AAAVMS stress that all media should meet professional standards and principles especially when it comes to information of the highest degree of public interest.
