SDSM: Conditional recommendation because Brussels does not trust Nikola Gruevski anymore

The recommendation from the EU to start negotiations for membership for Macedonia, unfortunately, is conditional because Brussels no longer trusts Nikola Gruevski, says the SDSM after the publication of the European Commission’s report on Macedonia’s progress.

“Together with the citizens, we managed to keep the Euro-integration process of Macedonia, which now has seriously questioned the policies of the current government. There are corruption scandals and political interference in institutions in Macedonia. The Przhino Agreement is the best way to end the political crisis. The application of the agreement will be reviewed after the elections, when there will be a new report from the EU for Macedonia. This was directly said by the Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, from Brussels, “reads the reaction to the report from the SDSM.

According to the SDSM, this is a direct message to Nikola Gruevski and his government that they can not afford to disregard the agreement or to consider crime, corruption, or a violent election process.

The party says that they will continue to work on the normalization of the country and are determined on April the 24th to return Macedonia to a free and European country.
