Reactions: Many scenarios behind the DUI’s decision

The leaders of the NSDP, the Democratic Union and the PCER (Party for Full Emancipation of the Roma) Tito Petkovski, Pavle Trajanov and Samka Ibraimovski today issued their reaction to the DUI’s decision to withdraw its ministers from Government.

Petkovski considers the decision by VMRO-DPMNE’S coalition partner the only way of cementing the agreed date for elections.

“Judging by the way things went in the past, the DUI’s move seems like a scenario written by the VMRO-DPMNE, to make sure that elections on June 5 happen”, said Petkovski.

For the DS (Democratic Union) leader Pavle Trajanov, said he hopes that DUI’s decision is aimed at forming policies – otherwise the interim government has a longer mandate to implement key reforms necessary for free and fair elections.

“It would be a reasonable decision if they are moving in that direction, because it is more than clear now, that there are no conditions for free and fair elections on June 5, when we have a complete and systematic blockade in all of our institutions”, says Trajanov.

The Party for Full Emancipation of the Roma say that DUI does not want to hold elections on June 5. If their move is indeed for these reasons it is a step in a good and commendable direction, however if there is another variant, it would be disastrous for the country.
