President of Democratic Union for Integration, Ali Ahmeti, held a meeting with Belgian Ambassador Anick Van Calster. The Embassy of Belgium based in Sofia, Bulgaria, is also a diplomatic mission for Macedonia.
At the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the current situation in the country and the region, economic development, inter-ethnic relations, as well as Euro-Atlantic integration.
As announced by DUI, President Ahmeti spoke about the need for a specific international involvement in settling the dispute between Skopje and Athens which keeps us away from NATO and from the start of negotiations for EU membership.
– Without the involvement of international friends, this issue cannot be resolved. Without quick resolution to this issue, there can be no lasting peace and stability in the country and the region, much less healthy interethnic relations and economic development – said Ahmeti.
