“Out of patriotic reasons” VMRO-DPMNE renamed SDSM into SDS without the ‘M’

-

Recently, VMRO-DPMNE has renamed the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM) and in the party’s official announcements and it’s party members’ statements, they have began addressing their political opponent as SDS instead of SDSM.

Out of the parliamentary rostrum it pronounced as “es-de-es” and this sort of newly formed speech was accepted or is followed by analysts and columnists close to this party and so they are speaking or writing about “democracy according to SDS,” “SDS”, “Plan B” that “SDS will try to take over the government by force” etc.

Previously, VMRO-DPMNE was using the temporary reference “SDS” when it was addressing or pointing at the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia, but starting from the 6th of April it became regular practice in party official announcements.

When “Meta” asked why VMRO-DPMNE had renamed SDSM, Ivo Kotevski, the Director of the Communications Centre, in a style characteristic for the party’s announcements, by using the abbreviation “SDS,” replied that they did so because “by accepting the Tirana platform, Zoran Zaev has stepped deep into anti-state and anti-national policies.”

“The pardoned criminal Zoran Zaev has admitted that it is not convenient for SDS to act as patriots and now the whole public is a witness that with the acceptance of the Tirana platform he has stepped deep in the anti-state and anti-national policies. Nevertheless, there is no citizen in the Republic of Macedonia that won’t be able to name at least five reasons why no one looks at SDS as a political party that is defending the Macedonian state and national interests”, wrote back Kotevski.

Last week, from the parliamentary rostrum, SDSM’s MP, Damjan Manchevski, addressed his colleagues from the opposing party as DPMNE without using VMRO (Inner Macedonian Revolutionary Organizations) stressing that it was his personal opinion.

MPs from VMRO-DMNE demanded that their party is called by its whole name, and in the contrary, they said, they will start name SDSM in different ways.

Otherwise, SDSM in its official announcements addresses VMRO-DPMNE using the party’s full name.
