The Metamorphosis Foundation and the International Center for Journalists for the third year in a row, are continuing the program “Journalism for a New Generation”, with the support of the US Embassy in Skopje. This year, once again, dozens of young people from the country have the opportunity to participate in trainings and be part of a paid internship, while the best will go on a week-long study visit to the United States.

Three workshops will be held this year, the first in November on the topic of Data Journalism, the second in February on the topic of Fact-Checking and the third in April on the topic of Pre-bunking.

The best participants in the three workshops will be invited to a one-month paid internship in one of the three media outlets of Metamorphosis Foundation — Meta News Agency, Portalb and Truthmeter. The best interns, on the other hand, will have the opportunity to visit the capital of the United States, Washington, D.C., for a week during the summer.

The first workshop on the topic of Data Journalism will be held from November 13-15 in Skopje and all those interested in participating between the ages of 18 and 29 can apply on this link.

The trainers will be the noted New York Times journalist Robert Gebeloff, who teaches data journalism at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York and the Editor-in-Chief of Meta News Agency, Goran Rizaov.

Participants of the first workshop will learn about the entire process of working with data, starting from finding, downloading, cleaning, analyzing and visualizing. They will learn how to use advanced tools that are free to use for these purposes. Among other things, the workshop will present the basics of the data visualization software – R.

The number of participants is limited, and everyone interested in participating in this workshop can apply on this link. The workshop will last three days and will be held entirely in English.

At the same time, applications for the other two workshops, on the topics of Fact-Checking and on the topic of Pre-bunking, are also open. Exact dates and locations will be further specified.
