From the fifthteenth to the seventeenth of May, the first workshop on prebunking was held in the city of Ohrid in North Macedonia, where ten young participants learned about different types of preventive strategies of ways to prevent the spreading of disinformation. This workshop was intended for young students, journalists, members of the civil sector, activists and enthusiasts.
This is the last of the three workshops within the annual program “Journalism for the new generation” which the Metamorphosis Foundation is conducting in partnership with the “International Center for Journalists”(ICFJ) with the support of the US Embassy in North Macedonia.The top best six participants from the three workshops will have the opportunity for a one month held internship in one of the Metamorphosis Foundation media i.e. Meta.mk, Portalb or Truthmeter.
In addition the top three best interns will go on a one week study visit to Washington, USA.
The trainers for the workshop were-as follows: Celeste Sepesi from the USA assistant professor at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications, Vladimir Petreski editor for Thruthmetter, and Despina Kovachevska media monitoring specialist at the Metamorphosis Foundation.
The event is part of the project “Journalism for the new generation” which the Metamorphosis Foundation is conducting in partnership with the “International Center for Journalists”(ICFJ) with the support of the US Embassy in Skopje, from the time period between September 2023 until July of 2024.
