Russian President Vladimir Putin phoned US President Barack Obama.
The two presidents discussed the negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program, the situation in Syria, as well as the need to deal with members of the Islamic state.
President Obama stressed the need to maintain the truce in Ukraine.
Otherwise, since February, this is the first phone conversation between the two presidents.
