In North Macedonia, all the pubic sector employees i.e. the central administration employees, the employees of the local self-government units, all the state institutions, will have to come to work with a certificate for at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine or with a negative PCR-test results, done at their expense.

If they don’t have any of the confirmations then they will have to show a confirmation that they have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 45 days or to show confirmation from a doctor- specialist why they cannot get the jab, i.e. in cases of rare immunological diseases.

The Ministry of Health of North Macedonia will publish a list of diseases and specialists who will issue these confirmations.

These proposed measures were announced today by the Health Minister Venko Filipche after the meeting of the Commission for Infectious Diseases. He said that these proposals will be submitted to the Government and would enter into force 10 days from now.

“We recommend that all private companies should join in the implementation of these measures. Apart from this, we recommend that the vaccination should be mandatory for all health workers,” Filipche said.

Regarding the control process, he said that all inspectorates will have electronic devices at their disposal so that they can perform controls.
