Without incident, the Archbishop of the MOC (Macedonian Orthodox Church) Stefan, together with the diocese priests of Skopje consecrated the stone – the foundation stone of the cross in Butel. The foundations for the cross were placed on the roundabout at the street Boca Ivanova and Aleksander Urdarevski.
At the roundabout this morning there was a makeshift stage with speakers, and the ceremony was attended by the head of the World Macedonian Congress, Todor Petrov, the Mayor of Skopje Koce Trajanovski, the Mayors of Butel and Gazi Baba, Petre Latinovski and Toni Trajkovski and the Deputy Minister Labour and Social Policy Dime Spasov.
At the same time, a group of citizens, along with officials and supporters of the DUI party, were blocked on the bridge by the police force and were unable to access the roundabout where the consecration took place.
