The Holy Bishop’s Synod of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric (MOC-OA) expressed gratitude to the Bulgarian patriarch Neofit and to the members of the Holy Bishop’s Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, who today came to the decision to accept to be the mother church of the MOC.
“The adopted decision of the BOC’s BAP gives hope for a final settlement of the status of the legitimate autocephaly of the Macedonian Orthodox Church within the family of the local Orthodox churches,” said the statement from the MOC-OA.
At today’s session, the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church decided to engage and represent the MOC in front of the local Orthodox churches for establishing the canonical status of the Macedonian Orthodox Church.
