“Lidl” will build own supermarkets throughout North Macedonia

The new greenfield investment in North Macedonia was discussed at a meeting today between the representatives of the management of the Lidl supermarket chain and the Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, the Minister of Transport and Communications Blagoj Bochvarski and the Mayor of the City of Skopje Petre Shilegov. “Lidl” is operating in neighboring Serbia, Greece and Bulgaria and its greenfield investment in North Macedonia will be managed by the management of Lidl – Bulgaria.

The company has beenregistered in Macedonia and according to Zaev, this investment will bring better choices for the citizens and new employments.

Over 200 German investors employ over 28.000 people in North Macedonia.

Milena Dragiyska, Lidl – Bulgaria’s Executive Director will hold the helm in Lidl North Macedonia.

At the meeting today, the representatives of “Lidl” explained that all the planned supermarkets will be opened in cities with sustainable demographic and economic power.
