In one week North Macedonia sees drop of 48,3% of new COVID-19 cases, death rate declines by 38,1%

The Public Health Institute of North Macedonia’s weekly report for the period 10-16 May 2021 shows that 16,773 specimen were tested for COVID-19 in the labs, which is an increase of 6,3% compared to one week before. During this period, 674 new COVID-19 positive cases were registered in the 31 cities nationwide, which is a decrease of 48,3% compared to the previous week. The percentage of positive results during the aforementioned period moves from 1,8% up to 7,2%, with an average of 4%.

After two negative tests for the presence of SARS-CoV-2, 2,646 people who were either hospitalized or in home treatment were registered as recovered which is a decrease of 36% compared to the previous week. 65 deaths were registered in 15 cities which is 38,1% less compared to the previous week.
