European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn indirectly commented on the escape of former convicted Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski on his Twitter account, saying it is a “matter of Europe’s credibility”.
“A strong rule of law is one of the fundamental criteria of EU accession. After years of backsliding, Macedonia is making good progress in this area, including criminal law. All EU member states and West Balkan neighbours should support this process. This is a matter of Europe’s credibility”, wrote Hahn.
